The coolant liquid is applied directly to the cutting tool at high pressure, enhancing the cooling effect at the cutting edge. This increases tool life and assists in chip fragmentation. By reducing short stops, cutting speeds are increased. This also decreases the need for correction work, expanding the potential for automation.
